Gritwire rocks. This is just top of the line presentation AND its very fast as well! I just wonder how fast their release cycle is. I'm currently a bloglines user and I'm tired of no responsiveness and the apparent lack of desire to add any new features (even though they have a great existing feature set, thats no reason not to improve). Gritwire: here is my feedback:
1. I want the ability to mark a feed as read automatically after clicking on it (instead of having to click on "Mark as Read" every time).
2. I want the option of a 2-pane "River of News" viewing style option. Then maybe Dave Winer will blog about you too (but first you better add improved support for rss items with no title element, like Scripting News). No wait, I don't want that because it might kill my performance if he brings you a lot more users. River of News is sometimes more convenient, particularly for feeds in which you always want to see all the items (like photo feeds or really good feeds in which you usually want to read every item).
3. For people who are just trying Gritwire out because they're interested in switching (like me), give them the ability to mark EVERYTHING as read. Otherwise after I import my OPML from bloglines I have a ton of work to do in Gritwire!
4. When reading, Just above the "Mark as read | Recommend | Unsubscribe" links you have the name of the feed I'm reading. Make this a link to the htmlUrl so that I can easily visit the page in my browser if I like.
5. Very impressed with the speed.
6. Something is wrong with the linking support for relative urls. In the IEBlog, this post:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/03/30/565222.aspx, contains a relative link for the text "Simple List Extensions in action". When I click on this link in Gritwire it tries to take me to
instead of
7. Love the podcast/vlog support. Awesome.
8. Add the option for you to show only feeds that actually have new items in the feed list. No reason to show me the feeds I'm subscribed to if they don't have any new items waiting.
9. When I subscribe to a new RSS feed, let me choose which folder to put it in instead of assuming the root folder.
